Well, this is not supposed to be a single topic per se; it's somewhat like a compilation of ideas I have for customization.

Headgear Quests Update
First off is an upgrade to the Headgear Quests. I've noticed that the quests have less story behind it and would be more of a "submit items, get reward, kthxbye". However, it makes the experience more straightforward, and at times, boring. Tongue This upgrade will remove the zeny requirements for all item custom quests and will replace some or all of the requirements with more appropriate items. If needed, items with more useful effects would have more difficult quests to back it up.

UPDATE! There would be a Headgear Class System to be introduced. This is not really important, as it just groups items with similar functions together.

Class S - Has powerful effect/s and is usually a part of a player's combat gear. This includes Hunter Cap. Quests of headgear of this class will tend to be tedious and or needs the player to be of high level, etc.
Class A - The effects of headgear under this class is minor compared to Class S Headgear, and is relatively easier to make.
Class B - A "special" class of headgear, this class encompasses all headgear with no effects (and no slots) and thus, is of cosmetic value most of the time. Quests in this class, however, would be part of higher-class headgear.
Class C - Colorizing quests. Like Class B items, they can be a requirement for higher-class headgear quests.

Gray Deviruchi Hat [Class C]
NPC: Romero - somewhere in Geffen
Do you have a Deviruchi Hat and finds it color boring already? Head off to Romero, a tea-loving expert in dyeing accessories, where he can change the color of your hat into his favorite color: gray.
Items Needed: 1 Deviruchi Hat, 5 Black Dyestuff, 5 White Dyestuff, 250 Little Evil Horn, 1 Grape Juice Herbal Tea (not taken)

Bullock Helm [Class S]
NPC: Sir Darwin Frieder - somewhere in Veins
Required Class: Transcendent Second Class of at least Level 70
He was known as "Black Hurricane" because of his skills in wielding a sword, but now is a self-proclaimed "retired veteran" who knows a secret about a powerful helm he himself is trying to find.
Items Needed: 3 Gold, 5 Emerald, 3 Emperium, 5 Helm[1], 50 Oridecon

Executioner Hood [Class A]
NPC: Rutherford - Yuno
Rutherford finally regrets that he had accepted his job. After a long line of convicts fell by his hand as an executioner, he decides that it's time to atone to his sins by asking forgiveness to those whom he executed before being discovered as innocent. "If you are willing to share my sadness 'till the end, I shall reward you with a token of my blood-soaked past."

Yellow Bandana [Class A]
NPC: Chryssa - Wild Rose map (outside Geffen)
She has been interested to find out how a "Bloodless Revolution" is possible when weapons can be so easily manufactured. To help her retrace the events leading to the event that took her interest, you have to prepare to do anything, even plummet to certain doom.

Black Ribbon [Class C]
NPC:

Autumn Leaves [Class B]
NPC: Feati - Splendide
Unlike the Fairies living in Splendide, Feati longs for Autumn. She has only heard of it from a couple who visited their home, and after seeing oranged leaves on their hands, she is determined to reward anyone who would show her a piece of Autumn.

Songkok [Class B]
NPC: Hadda - Rachel
Out of money and lost in an unfamiliar territory, Morroc's Hadda asks willing adventurers to assist him in surviving in Rachel. Just don't point him to those vegetable-tasting meat!

Deviling Hat [Class A]
NPC: Cornelius - Prontera
Who could be more interested with Devilings than Doll Maker Cornelius? He has everything about Devilings recorded in his journal and would be eager to hear about your stories about Devilings. However... he doesn't want to go face-to-face with one; with all those eye-witness accounts and near-death encounters with them, he's not taking chances.

Onward to Derek's Headgears!
Solar Panels [Class A]
Lurran from Aldebaran is discovering a brand-new technology that will harness the power of the sun! Problem is, he's alone in the research process and does not prefer leaving his house to look for the things he need himself. Luckily, he knows where his colleagues are, and all he needs is someone to run errands for him.

Blue Beanie [Class C]

Winter Girl Jenna has just arrived from a long journey to get the dyes she needs for her usual knitting pastime in Lutie, but now, is suffering from a scorching fever. Get her nursed back to perfect health and she will be more than willing to give you a nice present!

Frozen Twin Pompom [Class A]
"You don't know how cold it is in the Ice Dungeon until you've seen that kid stuck on the ice," says Everest. He's an adventurer like all others, but he likes the cold temperatures inside the Ice Dungeon more than anything. He says it's in his blood, but actually, he has something that helps him survive the chilling temperatures inside. Get him to trust you, and you might also share his secret to keeping yourself from being an icicle.

Note Headphones [Class B]
He has once made the infamous Headset in Geffen, and now, Scherzo in Lighthalzen has upgraded it, using much of the materials he found within the vicinity.

Blue Drooping Kitty [Class C]
The Cat Priestess in Payon, real name Seol-rin, is a miko from Amatsu who was born in Payon. She acquired a talent in making stuffed toys in Amatsu and brings it to her new hometown, where eager adventurers can get her famous Blue Drooping Kitties in exchange for a favor.

Vane Hairpin [Class B]
Kaname, a citizen of Amatsu, sells bright-colored paper windmills for a living. With her sickly mother bedridden, she is forced to abandon her wish of becoming a scholar of Rune-Midgard and now uses her talent in origami to support her family.

Blue Mage Hat [Class C]

Rideword Hat (also known as "How to Make a Carnivorous Book" Quest) [Class A]
Keler is a devious mage who has been curious with making life out of inanimate objects; because of this, he was banished from Geffen and ended up in Glast Heim's vast library complex. At first, he is astounded by the information hidden in the lost city's archives, but notices that he lacks some books that he needs to complete his quest. Should you help him, you are to travel around Rune-Midgard to search for those books and hunt for the proper catalysts needed to create... a carnivorous book. Prepare your head for this.

The rest to follow.

Ok I like this idea but the zeny factor does need to be worked in, because of all all the overcharging and discounting player merchants the economy among the npcs is in the tank and almost all the npcs are poor so they would work into their tales how a little extra zeny would not hurt.

But I do so agree with moving the custom hats into Real quests spread about and adjusting the items to fit the hats.

Also I would personally love to see slotting quests for every top gear that does not have stats to it.

The more the community works to help balance these, the more plausible it becomes to implement it.

Well, if they agree to participate. Just in case, I'll leave most of the details blank so that it wouldn't be much of a spoiler. Tongue I'll also try to integrate "funding" to my quests so that it becomes a zeny sink of sorts as well.

The thing I liked about Lumina was... how the majority of the quests were placed in one area (middle of Gaia).
TBH, I joined this server because of the custom headgear quests and how easy it was to locate the NPCs.
(In my last server, finding the NPC was harder than doing the quest itself since NO ONE made guides which included the exact location of everything. >_>)

Make the monie requirements less damanding though.  As a Hat Collector, this gets really expensive.  And I only made one Hat so far because of that.  D:

We should make some custom NPCs for these quests!  Give it moar flavor!

Maybe Hat collectors should learn how to farm for zennies like everyone else has to. Smiley Anything less than 5mil ~ 20mil is incredibly easy to farm.
